A talk by H.E. Mr Damien Miller, Australian Ambassador to Denmark
Venue: Café Apoteket
This was a really broad and fascinating introduction to Australia. In his talk the Ambassador gave cultural and social insights and covered developments of the whole period from the Dreamtime to the very latest political developments.
Many of his insights carried more weight because Damien Miller is not just well educated Australian career diplomat, but is the very first Indigenous Australian to head an Australian diplomatic mission. While at university, in 1993 he was selected “Aboriginal Scholar of the Year” by the National NAIDOC Committee. In his time in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade he has served in Malaysia and Germany together with a number of assignments in Canberra.
As well as being the Australian Ambassador to Denmark, he is concurrently accredited to both Iceland and Norway.
